He was not asking for "a way to backup only the changes", he was asking "do any of the CVS systems allow incremental backups, where only items changed since a last full backup would be backed up?" The diff solution is your interpretation of that, it works, but for me it's not really the best. And I didn't make a "statement that an incremental dump is not a backup", I said "a diff between two revisions is not really an 'incremental backup'". And I gave reasons for that. I don't really know what to reply; it would be a lot easier if you didn't misrepresent the original posters' words.
