I thought it would be something like that. I based my message on my experiences with the Slackware install CDs - I'm using Fedora on my desktops, but I've never had to boot using the Rescue part of the install CD. My network server, OTOH, is running Slackware 10.1 and has been booted from CD in rescue mode at least three times - once after hosing LILO, once after hosing the ReiserFS root partition (reiserfsck --rebuild-tables in single-user mode fixed that) and again after making the machine unbootable during a botched kernel upgrade... The saying's true - Linux isn't unfriendly, it's just very picky about who it considers to be a friend :) > Great!
