I think he might be correct and PIC24/dsPIC may not be able to compete well with low end ARM in the 16bit/32bit market. Maybe Higher-end 8-bit market will lose to low end ARM as well. It will take time though. Still in the 8-bit market, PIC and MCS51 clones will rule.
