I don't know the state of the EasyISP firmware, but the latest version of
PIC_PROG and other utilities at http://www.embedinc.com/picprg/sw.htm should
work.  The protocol spec keeps evolving but I try to keep the host software
backwards compatible to old versions.  Although that hasn't been tested that
thoroughly...
