Here I go not being clear enough again. Sigh. (-: My bad. Literally, I have an HP 9000 server and the console is connected via a 9 pin serial cable running 9600N81. The Linux equivalent of Hyperterminal (I forgot the name, PPP-something) works perfectly when I connected it via a null-modem cable and set it up for /dev/ttyS0. Minicom, though, which I can use via telnet, doesn't work. I couldn't figure out how to make it say "Online" in the status windows. Any hints? There is no modem, just a null-modem cable connected from the device's 9 pin serial to my pc's 9 pin serial.
