At work, I'm currently archiving old 5.25" floppies before we don't have a working drive anymore. In my experience, 5.25" floppies are VERY stable, better than 3.5" floppies. But, somehow, I don't think they will become the archive media of choice anytime soon... And, a little more on-topic, my oldest CD-R is about 10 years and still going strong. Although I should start doing wholesale CD copies sometime soon, to make sure my archives are still OK. An extra CD or two on a shelf is cheap insurance.
