Plants with spiky leaves give off a nice blue aura in the dark, and the laves reach out and touch anyone who gets too close ;) I can remember charging up my brother who I had stand on a big pile of old polythene shopping bags to insulate him. Managed to get his hair standing on end in a classic Van De Graaf stylee when there was a huge crack and my brother lept around holding his foot. Seems old shopping bags don't have that high a breakdown voltage...
