Well, some mailing list archive software will archive only the body and teh sender's name, or otherwise obscure the full headers. Almost all of them, if they do any obfscation, do that. However, not many that I'm aware of go to any lengths to obscure anything in the message body. So, though your address is present in the headers *and* body, it may well only be obscured in the headers. Not that it makes much of a difference, since your address is probably available somewhere else anyway. :) I've pretty much given up on the hope that spammers won't get my address, instead choosing to use specific addresses for specific tasks so I can identify the source of the spam, and running strong anti-spam filters. About 85% or so of the incoming mail traffic on my home mail server is spam. That's out of a couple thousand messages/day. The filter has missed one spam in the last two weeks. IMHO, that's more effective than wasting time trying to obscure an email address... --Danny -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
