Replying to myself to possibly save others the same aggravation ----- Original Message ---- >From: Peter van Hoof pvhoof@yahoo.com >I bought some 18f4539 chips with built in motor controller kernel >before really reading all of the data sheet and now have some problems. >I have no idea how to call the prompt functions in C. Is this true even if the kernel is never called or initialized? I have tried the piclist, the microchip forum, and even opening a support ticket with Microchip all without a meaningful answer. As far as I understand the 18Fxx39 series was only a temporary solution from Microchip to address the fact that they did not have a motor controller chip ready. After completing the design of the 18Fxx31 interest in this product faded. The tech replying to my support ticket didn't seem to have much info available about it. Anyway, after searching for documentation for a long time I finally stumbled upon PRMTX439.asm and PRMTX539.asm of the latest installation of the c18 compiler at C:\MCC18\src\traditional\pmc\ProMPT from which it is clear how to call the prompt functions. I hope this info has some value, a lot of these chips are sold on eBay at the moment. YMMV Kind regards Peter van Hoof -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
