However, this is different for each type of cell, it is best to consult the manufacturer's battery manual, which should contain all the necessary details. During the battery course given by Microchip they said almost every battery can be charged at their discharge rate, which means you should be able to charge most batteries in slightly over an hour, if you monitor/control current and/or voltage correctly.
