I tried your suggestion about putting in a new chip, I did your steps, and step-8, there is a problem. When I hit the read button, it comes up with, "SX-KEY not found on com1". The chip is new, or at least it has only been programmed once. I hit the read a couple of times, and nothing. Since it did a program succesfully, that means, I guess, that com1 was available for programming.

 

So, now does my SX-Key get a reprieve, and my SX Tech board is the culprit. Or is this just another false lead. I think we will have to call it quits on this one. There are just to many factors in play now that could be contributing to the problem.

 

As a last ditch effort, later on today, I will solder some headers on a new SX52 board, and see if the problems go away. If they do not, then I will have to do a reassesment of this situation.
