But to my best knowledge there is no backend for the 18F's, and there would be a lot of demand. But I think the 18F's are nmot as C-friendly (at least not GCC-friendly) as Microchip says. For efficient code generation you would have to make the step from GCC's stack/registers oriented organistation to the one-register/direct-memory-addressing PIC architecture.
