Hi brainiacs

I have a project where I am trying to control a piezo
gas starter.  the piezo starter is to be retro-fitted so that
I can disable the spark.  I do not know yet how high the voltage
goes when the starter is actuated.  Any ideas about how I can
turn off the spark ?

A solid state approach would be preferred over a mechanical one.
( But  as they say ...... any port in a storm )
