TI's excellent TPA122 audio amplifier.  Stereo, 150 mW, SO8, with mute and
a special pop reduction feature which, I must say, works quite well.

I've used it for amplifying the output of a white noise generator and then
muting the output when appropriate.  It's a nice, sharp cutoff with nary a
pop to be heard.
