What about that thing Cingular had a while back where you could put your cell phone on a cradle which would make the phones in your house ring / let you talk over them? I have no idea if they still offer that, bit it might well do what you need. Or you could just put the phone on vibrate and carry the phone in your pants pocket. That's what I've done for years - and I drive a car whose exhaust is loud enough inside in combination with the stereo usually being up loud*er* so I can hear the vocals. The phone ringer usually ins't heard, but I typically feel a vibration (which is distinguishable from the vibration the car normally has) every time. :) ...time passes... Ok, through a quick web search, I found this: http://www.cingular.com/customer_service/fast_forward which is the Cingular thing, which apparently just forwards calls to your home phone, and therefore isn't really what you asked for (but would call forwarding work for you?). There's also this thing: http://www.phonelabs.com/prd05.asp I'm not sure if it'll do what you want or not, but it's got potential... http://communications.rca.com/en-US/ModelDetail.html?MN=23200RE3 My final suggestion, and probably the most useful, is to find out if your cell phone can be hooked up to a car stereo's mute circuit. Lots of phones have an output which will mute an aftermarket (and some factory) stereos. The output is just an on/off kind of thing. If you can figure out how to get at that output, it should be pretty trivial to use a relay or something to kick on a BigArse Bell(TM). You'd want to disconnect the output when talking, though, as the mute output stays active during the conversation as well. --Danny -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
