I am sure there are parameters that allow for adjustment of such things. Vibrato is AC pitch modulation around a mean, so it would be fairly easy to look at the slope of F and decide whether the singer was moving to the note, or had missed it. Given that the DSP process introduces a minute delay, you'd never hear the 'off' pitch. The Cher song 'Believe' gives a great example of what the voice processing technology can do now.
