You can do that in two ways: either through gmane.org with a news message, or with a normal email to the piclist. I'm doing the former for quite some time (this message is posted through gmane.org's piclist newsgroup). You need to: - have a valid piclist subscription - connect to gmane.org with an identity that contains that piclist subscription email address - reply to gmane.org's confirmation message that it'll send you after the first time you try to post. Works well. You also can read the piclist through gmane.org and reply via email. Pretty much every newsreader can send emails, so that works also. > At one time I had a java based news feed program that was going to > interface to the archive to provide a newsgroup feed from piclist.com. > Piclist.com members would then be able to post back to the list. Since there is already a perfectly working email-to-news-and-back-again gateway for the piclist, I think you should spend your valuable time creating new things :) > I would like to have gmails threading ability built into the archive at > piclist.com, but I'm not sure how to implement it effeciently. Use gmail as your backend, so to speak? Route visitor requests to gmail (using an account that you have set up for that and that has all piclist messages stored), read the result gmail sends you and build a part of that html somehow into the page that you send back to the visitor? Probably is tricky technically and legally, though. Gerhard -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
