A good news reader through gmane. 

I've used Forte Agent for many years (the paid version, but they have a
free version too that's almost as good) and was quite happy with it --
until I realized it would take them forever to add multi-server support.
(I'm not sure they have it by now.)

So I switched to 40tude Dialog. Needs a bit getting used to (like most news
readers with more than basic features) but works well. (Also free.) I use
it for news groups and mailing lists.

What is the problem with threading that you see with OE through gmane but
not with gmail?
