I had a DirectTV receiver (Phillips or RCA) that would kill the X10 signals when I plugged it in. Somewhere on the web I found a filter circuit that could be made out of an X10 appliance module. Gutted the control board and relay out, kept the input filter and hardwired across where the relay was. What was an input filter for the X10 into the appliance module also worked to keep the dish receiver from damping the signal. Kinda makes sense but then I get brain ache trying to work through it. %-) Moved into a new house in July and the X10 pieces we brought along are still in a box. Seriously thinking about leaving X10 and moving to Zigbee. It was "snake oil" during the HomeRF/Firefly years but seems to be a real technology now. -----Original Message----- From: John Ferrell Sent: Nov 29, 2005 2:17 PM To: "Microcontroller discussion list - Public." Subject: Re: [EE] X10 Considering we are posting in a Pic group and nearly all of these devices have pic controllers it would seem to me to be the right place to be. I have an ATX power supply that will kill the X10 signals as soon as it is plugged in, no need to power on. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
