Not really a mystery (at least from my experience). Every time you add an X10 module to create more signal suckers which weakens the signal. If you already have a black hole (entertainment systems, computer, UPS) your signal can be very weak. If you're looking to keep your X10 system them look into an Elk ESM1 (which I like better than the more expensive Monterey). I use it for my X10 and Insteon testing. The Insteon device should also be susceptible to this problem but they repeat Insteon signals to strengthen them. They don't do this with X10. And one day I will gather up all the debugging tips I can find and put them in one online page. -- Linux Home Automation Neil Cherry ncherry@linuxha.com http://www.linuxha.com/ Main site http://linuxha.blogspot.com/ My HA Blog http://home.comcast.net/~ncherry/ Backup site -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
