My "house" is a 32 year old trailer home- 65'x12'.  There's
a reason the laundry is in with the toilet. ;-)

OTOH, it was VERY cheap, I walk to work, and my wife
walks to school.  She'll be done soon enough, and then
we can move into an even older house.
