I didn't say they are not following their business interests. :-) I sure hope not -- I still own some of their stock! But sometimes it takes someone "on the ground" to call to their attention to just how their business interests are best served. Without (hopefully) going into any sort of extended discussion, I would venture to say that (a) Microchip has great hopes for the Asian market, and (b) they are looking for their local representatives over there to steer them right. Their local representatives, in turn, are going to be influenced by their prime customers. So someone who is informed, articulate, and not afraid to speak his (or her) mind to a local representative has a far greater influence than one would think. Believe me, a company like Microchip is driven by the marketing division. Whether this is a good thing or not is another matter, of course, and is a good discussion in it's own right. But not here and now now. . -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
