It's difficult to be sure of much beyond that, if you are talking about knowing with certainty (Cartesian certainty.. knowledge that is simply beyond doubt). There's also a more relaxed idea of knowledge that seems to work pretty well: Knowledge is justified, true belief. That is, if you believe something to be true, and it actually is true, and you believe it for the right reasons, then you can be said to know it.
