I ordered 2 of the ZIF sockets (same mfg part) for my BOE and PDB. I just realized that the BOE is only 28 pins and it will hang off of it a bit. Oh well. I just got them in from Jameco.com this afternoon along with some parts (CD4028 and LTP-747 (could not find LTP-757 LED Matrix)) to build something similar to the ROBOLYMPICS board with the SX28. 

 

So far it looks like a good investment for a little more than $7 each ZIF socket.
