Hi all, I have never played with I2C or real time clocks before. I found a chip, DS1388, on the Maxim website that I wanted to try. It has an I2C interface and battery backup with trickle charge. The problem is I can't seem to buy it anywhere, not even from the Maxim website. I found the DS1302 which looks like it would fill the bill but it uses the C3, serial clock line of the PIC chip. I'm not sure if this is ok or will I have problems with the I2C devices in the circuit that are connected to the same line? Thanks for any help.
