A truck (presuming a personal pickup-truck, not delivery truck / van / lorry / whatever) is generally going to have single tires and less weight. A bus will almost certainly have dual rear tires which have almost no chance of passing over you without crushing some important parts. Never mind the low ground clearance of most busses, since they're intended for just city driving, wheras trucks usually have lots of clearance for off-road capability.
