When connecting my ICD2 to one of my new purchases it displays:
Target Device PIC18F4431 found, revision = Rev 0x2.

I can only find errata for the A2 and A3 revisions (and two for the
timer1 and SPI any rev) how does Mchip number these revisions ? is a
rev 2 newer than an rev A2 ? 

Can anyone tell me how to display The Device IDs (DEVID1 and DEVID2) in
MPlab?

Is there any way to determine the revision number from the date-code on
the package?

Just read up on the new 18f452's I bought too , almost lost it. guess I
should have read about these before buying. But for a chip that's been
there a while you don't still expect birth-defects.
