Shay, You might want to consider buying Mike Predko's book titled ... "123 PIC Microcontroller Experiments For The Evil Genius". This whole book is based on the 16F648 which is a 14 pin part, but the experiments and code should work virtually unmodified on the 648, (which IIRC is an 18 pin part).
