Changed to [OT] > The guy had the nerve to ask us to support him. There's support, and there's support. Support for his actions?, of course not. But, if he was an apparently decent person in all other respects, good work ethic, lots of selfless service to others, hadn't been dipping into club funds when he could have (check carefully!) etc, then it may well be appropriate to note that to the authorities. If he had none of these attributes then maybe not. As you may imagine, I utterly do not condone or support such action. The boss (no, not Bruce Springstein) reserves some of his strongest words for those who lead innocent ones astray and explicitly forbids doing harm to others when they are unable to be aware of what is being done to them, and such acts cannot and must not be condoned or encouraged in any form. BUT we all have our problems and some people who otherwise lead exemplary lives are burdened with the grossest of mental defects (which this is) which they are usually unable of their own volition to shake off. Such can be made more or less useful members of society depending on how they are treated. It's in the interests of all, if we decide to let them live or continue to participate in society (some have other ideas about this) to maximise their usefulness to society, quite apart from helping them for their own sakes.
