Yes . . . I used the term "Wisp628" in the sense of the whole package, 
but realize that there are lots of different pieces involved.  Anyway, 
you (and Olin) answered the basic question -- the hex file doesn't 
contain the device ID of the device that the program was assembled for.  
I think that is a gross deficiency, and obviously you do too.  But lots 
of deficiencies in life, and so we just keep on trucking.  (I would name 
some of them, but then James would moderate me, and I promised him that 
I would behave. . . :-)
