I'm hoping to just buy something off the shelf, since my plate is pretty 
full right now.  But doing a DIY project sounds like fun, and I'd like 
to experiment with it.  I've never done anything with phone stuff, and 
it would be fun.  Of course, the first step would have to be to make 
something to simulate the phone-company  -- wouldn't want to just sit by 
the real phone and wait for it to ring in order to do my testing.  :-)  
Just use the simulator plus a real phone and rig up any scenario that I 
like.
