There is a new type of indirection used by spam. It uses well known search engine URLs to score hits *and* reap valid email addresses. It works like this: nohttp://nowww.nogoogle.nofr/nourl?q=nohttp://noST%61%09n%44A%72T%09Z%61.noC%4fM/%63%67%09%69-b%69%6e%09/p%6fch/%72%09edir.%63g%69?s=your.isps.address (example). The idea is, if you click on it, it will point google to the url *and* it will validate your email using a unique string embedded in the url. The url above was mangled by me. Worse, such urls can be used as 'embedded images' so they will load when you open a html email if you are unforunate enough to run substandard email clients.
