I've used both CrystalFontz and Matrix Orbital serial LCDs in PC interface projects, and have been completely satisfied with them. I'm pretty sure that they both have models that can use I2C or "regular PC style" serial interfaces, and some of the models support matrix keypad interfaces which can free you from having to care about debouncing, etc. - you just periodically ask the display if any keys have been presed since last time, and what those keys were. They're kinda overkill, though I'd call them a valid price/time investment tradeoff if you've never worked with LCDs/VFDs before or don't want to. :) --Danny Jesse wrote regarding 'Re: [PIC] Help with LCDss.....' on Wed, Nov 09 at 10:31: > http://www.crystalfontz.com/ makes a variety of modules, I haven't used > them in a real project, only did "paper designs" / "BOM project > estimation" with their offerings.
