I generally like to put together my own solutions, but $400 was less than it would have cost me to piece together something, so it was simple economics. I was also looking at the USB stream between an embedded system host port and a device, so snoppy or other solutions would not work there as the embedded system was the host. Totalphase has the right idea -- make a product that will pay for itself within a day or two and you can't affort not to buy it.
