I'm designing a circuit to charge a battery made up of 10 = series-connected 9AH NiMH D cells . I've found some nice(?) charge = controller ICs at Dallas/Maxim. I want to do a fast charge - 1 hour or = so - and the controller ICs will support charging up to a 2C (.5hr) = rate. My question is, is it really practical to charge NiMH at 9A for 1 = hour? What do other folks do for fast charging high capacity NiMH?
