Fine for 36/38/40 kHz, but there are also 30 and 60 kHz receivers. And
when you are designing your own protocol you must realy read the
pulse/pause requirements of your particular receiver.

I have not yet seen unmarked receivers, but the inscription on the big
ones is often very difficult to read.
