I do a lot of work with the SXes, pretty much all in assembler, and I think the DEBUG feature is about as good as things get. In fact, I'm positive it is the only reason why I can get relatively large assembler efforts up and running.

Without DEBUG (and of course context save on interrupt), I probably would still be in that lowly "PIC" land.
