Frankly Russell, I'm amazed that someone like you that seems otherwise intelligent and apparently hasn't been hiding in a cave for the last 20 years just "discovered" this. It's hard to imagine anyone who isn't strictly a clickety-click user doesn't know this. > You can find files in a directory with the DIR command by adding "*" > wild card before, between and after any number of fragments of the > whole name. Yes, just like a real command shell. Since you're so easily impressed, check out the /S option. That allows you to do a search on a whole tree. for example: cd /d c:\ dir *.pdf /s will list all PDF files anywhere on the C: drive. And you can type that a lot faster than clickety-clicking your way thru the menus to do the corresponding FIND. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
