Yes, you can, but I don't think that was the point.

Again, it wasn't about default radix, realy, I read it such as the
prefered formats are d'xx', h'xx', o'xxx', b'xxxxxxxx' and a'x'.

Well, at least Olin's prefered formats, and I agree.

And to not use .12 or 0x12, as those differ from the general
format above.

And this has nothing to do with "default radix" as such...

(And not about dropping decimal all together, of course :-) )
