- let the LED fade on and off (software PWM)
- connect 8 LEDs and have them blink knight-rider (kitt) style
- connect a potmeter to an A/D input and show the 8-bit value on the 8
LEDs
- get a few seven-segment displays and show a value on them
- get a LSP (the PC type will do) and make a beep
- beep a melody
- there used to be a list of 'stupid PIC tricks' but I can't google it
any more
