I think that the environmental variables are not set up properly in your system. It is working as advertised in my system even though I never use the doc command. It is easier to double click the txt file to bring up your favorite editor like Notepad or Ultraedit. %EMBEDINC% = c:\embedinc %PATH% should contain C:\embedinc\com There are some environmental variables not automatically set up by the installation program.
