(a) Batteries -- this is A/C powered. (b) does it zero when shorted -- yep. (c) so let us compare other units -- other (cheaper) units give the same results. Since all three are pretty consistent, I think that we can accept the data as true. I don't know about everyone else, but to me it definitely signifies a lowering of standards.
