When you look at it strictly in a Darwinian way, it makes perfect sense why adultery is considered a serious offence. Its interesting to note that in this context adultery by a woman is a more serious threat to the man than adultery by a man is to the woman, and the pervailing attitudes roughly reflect that. For a man the problem is loss of success for his genes, for a woman it is a likely loss in resources. Biologically we are all still cavemen, and laws and morality can't stray too far from the basic underlying reality. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
