Looks like the upcoming Intersil ISL6455 is an interesting IC for handheld device powered by power-hungry MCUs like ARM/MIPS/... Not so sure if this IC is designed in Irvine CA or the=20 Research Triangle NC. Intersil is very strong in Desktop VRM field but not so strong in the low power field. AD, MAXIM, Linear Tech and TI seem to be stronger. Regards, Xiaofan --------From Intersil Website---------------------- The ISL6455 is a highly integrated triple output regulator=20 which provides a single chip solution for FPGA's and wireless=20 chipset power management. The device integrates a high efficiency synchronous buck regulator (adjustable) with two ultra low noise=20 LDO regulators (adjustable). Either the ISL6455 or ISL6455A can=20 be selected based on whether 3.3V =B110% or 5V =B110% is required=20 as an input voltage. ...
