It is not that "USB sucks". It is "the driver sucks".

Lot of the people have to use USB dongle to work
with serial based Wisp628A and EasyProg. So I think
it is good to build the USB dongle insider Wisp648A
and EasyPorgUSB (?).

Let's wait and see if Wisp648A will be serial based or 
USB based.

I hope just the opposite.  I have had nothing but trouble with using the 
ICD2 in the USB mode, and finally gave up in disgust.  Let me put it 
very plainly -- USB sucks.  So please keep the Wispxxx serial-port 
based.  Perhaps one of  these days USB will be straightened out, but in 
the meantime I prefer stuff  that works consistently, rather than 
according to the phase of  the moon.
