Not answering your question directly, maybe my recent reasonings for a 
new ink jet printer purchase while looking to buy a spare print head can 
be helpful.

1. auto power off and on
2. duplex feature
3. CD/DVD printing
4. pict bridge feature
5. spare print head if you get one that is the same as your AIO printer. 
  Here a brand new Canon IP3000 is about the price of its cartridges and 
print head combine (In US, you get a much better deal).
6. extra ink cartridges
