Acer? Dell? HP? Are there any good notebook vendors left? Maybe IBM (now Lenova) if you can fork out double the price for IBM. I bought a Dell 600M in year 2003 when I was in Irvine CA. The I have to move to Troy NY. The harddisk felt very cold and died at the age of three months. Then I came came back to Singapore early 2004. The baby felt too hot and suffered heart-attack (motherboard failure) and died at the age of 9 months. I did not have international warranty and had to ship the baby to Dell hospitals in the States. Anyway after that the baby is always kept in air-conditioned room and so far ithe basy is still alive at the age of two years. Hopefully the baby will still be alive for some years...
