For those that can be interested (?) I have found on the web this simple but ingenious PIC Datalogger for fluorescent dyes detection in the water: http://www.vollok.nl/projects/fluoresceine%20detector/ the detection limit is about 20 ppb of fluorescein dye ( not very high for this dye, as a commercial fluorometer is well under 1 ppb and often 0,02 ppb).
