I'm happy with the results from my floating point routines (that I have written so far).........I JUST want to SEE the values of the floating point numbers in the WATCH window when I'm DEBUGGING application code that uses the FP library routines. Sorry for shouting, but I can't seem to get the point accross that my issue is NOT the FP routines themselves; just seeing their output when I invoke them. Cheers, Peter (pjv)
Sorry for my misunderstanding, I thought you wanted to be able to write your floating point numbers in standard format (1.23e4) in your assembly code. My suggestion didn't address the actual routines but the method of entering numbers into your program to be processed by your floating point routines. But again, this doesn't address your concern. I still maintain it would be a great benefit to have a checkbox and command line entry form to provide textual preprocessing of the assembly language file (via python/pearl/sed/awk or any other text manipulation program which can output to stdout) where the output is directed as input to SASM. We use to provide these types of redirect hooks all the time when I was programming on the SGI, the users demanded the ability to cook raw datasets of >100Gbytes down to a subset that they were concerned with. They were working with USGS GIS databases to deliniate the exact coastline of an estuary to model tidal and sedimentary flows. One such dataset included the entire coastline from Maine to the NC/SC border but they wanted to extract only the data points that were within the Chesepeake Bay, Hudson Bay, Abelmarle Sound, or whatever particular estuary they were studying. ---------- End of Message ---------- You can view the post on-line at: http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=7&p=1&m=87181#m87384 Need assistance?
