I did have a project I considered this for between PICs. It never
eventuated but would have worked. I do use it for downloading
data tables from a PC. You wouldn't need ICSP with devices that
can write to their own program memory. Data can be transferred
by UART/PSP/bit-bang and then written with the EEPROM-
style routines or table commands
